  1. Have a thought re OPML, don’t quite know how to put it out to the community to see whether it’s a useful thought.

Thought is that OPML categories should be feeds. The idea here is that I’d like to automatically receive newsupdates, say on my River of News page, on what you’re doing with PHP. Then,on the posting side, I’d like to be able to use the River of News to post your material on my blog in a category I create for that blog, for example Category: [PHP – Used in OPML].

On the River of News page input side, I’d also like to have an ability to take various category-feeds I subscribe to and aggregate them by topics I create.

So my River of News page would display together updates to your PHP category with updates of someone else’s PHP stuff in a grouping, say neat [Neat PHP Stuff].

I may have a problem that these ideas aren’t clear or maybe useful, but I have a greater problem in that I don’t know where to go to get some feedback. I buried these in a probably incomprensible email about a larger wish-list item that involved auto-populating layout items along the lines of Protopage’s Gee Whiz, but haven’t heard back from him, and am mindful of a post he put up yesterday that suggested putting things to the commmunity.

    TIA,

    -Bob Phelps

  2. The OPML Support Group would be the best place to explore this. Note that the News River reader is in its infancy. Dave just added OPML reading list support – that’s what you’re talking about, I think.

Anyway, just ask politely and be patient.
